Susan Cho built Page Thirty on integrity and beauty

It takes guts to compete and Susan Cho has it. She started Page Thirty to be a brand of integrity and beauty. She is the founder & chief designer of Page Thirty. Her brand crafts leather apparel essentials for the modern woman. Each piece is sophisticated without being pretentious. Style and quality that outlast trends while consciously & ethically made in Los Angeles.

Susan is committed to creating something beautiful; and that requires Page Thirty to be fair, honest, and conscientious. She works with manufacturers with the same sense of integrity by paying above minimum wage and providing healthcare to the artisans that bring her products to life.

Page Thirty is committed to giving a percentage of all sales to charitable causes and organizations that share their core values.

HOW DID YOU GET STARTED?

I have always been drawn to fashion and design, however my decision to create Page Thirty was more of an entrepreneurial desire to create beautiful and classic products and own that process from end to end. With my husband’s support, I decided to leave behind corporate life and try my hand at being a small business owner. After months of planning and research, I was able to connect with an incredible manufacturer in Los Angeles who shared my same values of high quality, ethically-produced goods. After starting with two jacket styles, we are now up to a dozen and counting.

WHAT IS THE INSPIRATION FOR THE BRAND NAME?

The name Page Thirty is a tribute to the year I turned thirty. It was a significant time in my life, and the starting point of my search for a more fulfilling path. While it took a few more years to identify that exact course, entering my thirties was a new chapter in how I perceived myself and my goals.

WHAT WAS THE BIGGEST HURDLE YOU HAD TO OVERCOME TO GET STARTED?

My greatest hurdle was to overcome my hesitation in starting an apparel brand. Since I have no previous experience and no industry connections, I played a lot of mind games with myself about whether I could even get a product to market.

WHAT WAS THAT “JUST DO IT” MOMENT FOR YOU TO GET STARTED?

After sampling our initial two styles, I reached a moment where I had to decide whether to invest in my first set of inventory. Given the nature of our products, this was a risk because the cost of production is very high. I spent a few days going back and forth on whether I believed in the potential of these jackets. I decided to go to the mall to check out what styles of leather jackets they currently had, and I overhead a woman complain that she just wanted a simple leather jacket that was classy enough to wear to work functions. That’s all it took for me to push the button.
