@butterscotchlbc : At the end of last week @heddels_ dropped a really great article asking owner and founder of @leftfieldnyc Christian McCann, some really great but tough questions about the future of selvedge and USA made denim.
With the unfortunate and impending closure of Cone Mills, the last selvedge mill in the US, this article tackles questions like the decision process to use Xinjiang extra long staple cotton for some of the Left Field Charles Atlas fits and how it stands up to Japanese, Italian, and USA milled options. Christian sheds some light on the Extra Long Staple cotton used in some of LF’s fits and the “outside the box” mindset to the production process behind it. With the changing of times this is an informative dig into the world of selvedge and what we decide to wear as a consumer.
