The beginning is always exciting

Planning to paint more koi fish this week and I can’t wait! Also wondering how to paint with an injured back, standing up or lying down or bouncing on a birth ball or hanging from some kind of trapeze? It should be an interesting challenge 😬

Excited to share this gallery that I helped curate at my church! We wanted a way to celebrate the creative talents of people in our church family, so we constructed this corner gallery in our sanctuary to show new works each season. My painting “How I Can Know” and a print of my “Scapegoat” painting are included. I’m excited to see how this will evolve over time with new artists and projects.

I was invited to paint these ladies at a party last night, so fun pairing bold bright colors next to neutral skin tones

New tiny painting during the 👶🏼’s nap. I’ve surprisingly finished a large amount of paintings since his birth 8 months ago, and I think a lot of it is due to a piece of advice I’ve heard from another artist: Have one area in your house dedicated to only making art. So when I have 20 minutes here or an hour there I sit down and get right back to working on whatever I was working on before. We have a small apartment so I’ve dedicated half of our dining table to art making all the time. Also I have a great husband who knows I need to paint to feel sane and takes the baby often ❤️ Do you have tips that help your art-making productivity?
