About

About

Botanica Workshop is a lifestyle brand focusing on underwear and loungewear made of organic and sustainable materials.

Established in 2014, our independent design studio was born from a need for responsibly produced intimates with a designer aesthetic and quality to match. We partner with local artisans and technicians to create small production runs of well crafted pieces a few times a year in Los Angeles, CA.

The name Botanica Workshop comes from a combination of concepts: β€œBotanica” represents our ecologically minded use of materials, and β€œWorkshop” represents the experiential nature of designing and producing handcrafted goods. In just two seasons, we have gained a diverse following of incredible women, including industry tastemakers, celebrities, and key influencers.

We are ever evolving and ever mindful of our “slow fashion” sustainable design practice.

Thinking of all Californians affected by the fires these last few days. Our studio is more than 20 miles away from the affected areas in Malibu but the whole city felt smoke and ashes this weekend... will never forget the color of the sun as the winds picked up.

THE CORE VALUES PROJECT : Starting this month we are introducing a series featuring a few special women, their experiences with the fashion industry and their thoughts regarding sustainability. Presenting our next guest, model and creator @courtney_coll . Courtney wears Aya Bralette and Lila Brief in undyed natural organic cotton. 〰️〰️〰️ β€œOrganic is a tough word because it is still important to make sure you are contentious of what is going on, weather that is making sure the right food is going into your body, or the right fabric is being put on your body. I try my best to make sure I connect with a designer or know exactly what the clothing companies are doing to produce clothing before wearing it. Ive always been super into vintage clothing because the recycling aspect of it, keeps getting passed down from generations. Connecting with the land will defiantly make you question where more and more comes from, and I think that is super important!!!”

THE CORE VALUES PROJECT : Starting this month we are introducing a series featuring a few special women, their experiences with the fashion industry and their thoughts regarding sustainability. Presenting our next guest , actor and model #FrancesLi @frannnliii wearing the organic cotton Aya Bralette and Astra Hi-Waist Brief in Black. 〰️〰️〰️ For me, mindful consumerism is the tip of the iceberg when it comes to thinking about how we as humans relate to the world around us. Asking questions about why we are purchasing something, where it was made, what was used to make it, brings us closer to understanding our place in the greater system of economics that is often invisible to us. Capitalism makes us feel disconnected from the land, from eachother - being contentious about what I put on my body is one way that I am able re-connect with the physical world that surrounds me.

Presenting our next guest, astrologer @natalia_benson πŸ’œ 〰️〰️〰️ β€œWomen are a reflection of the Earth - the way we treat women, is also reflected, in our regard for the Earth. πŸŒβ€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€” Not many make this connection or correlation, but if you tune into this sentiment for a moment you will feel it’s truth in a very real, proverbial way. βœ¨β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€” I was asked by the company @botanicaworkshop to reflect on the concept of β€œslow fashion” and I will be honest, it’s only something that newly has come to my awareness as deeply, deeply important… supporting local artisans, companies that champion creating clothing for us that doesn’t harm the Earth or other human beings. ✨ β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€” We vote with every dollar that we spend, so let’s bring more awareness to companies like Botanica Workshop and other brilliant minds in Los Angeles & beyond 🌏 β€œ β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”
