Gopi began working with clay at the age of 14. Discovering the calming patience required to work with such a natural and fragile material, she immediately fell in love with wheel-throwing. Continuing her ceramics education at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and then at Santa Monica College, Gopi started learning about glaze chemistry and clay composition, improving her form and technique.
In 2014, Gopi launched her ceramics business and has evolved her line to include housewares and objects uncommonly designed with clay. Each piece is wheel-thrown by Gopi in her studio in Long Beach. Without use of molds, no two pieces are the same. Because of her history with ceramics and pottery and various teachers along the way, Gopi has learned a variety of skills and practices that give way to her distinguished line of work.
