This is Miguel wearing his own creation, the Crema Poncho. He learned to weave when he was 4 years old using a small handloom. The first item he wove was clothing for his doll. It’s so inspiring to know that each stitch of Mar Y Lana ponchos are made by hand and made to last. This is SlowFashion.

One of the goals of Mar Y Lana is to make products that are made to last. This poncho here is the one that started it all. This was handed down through my family to my son and then later on to my daughter pictured here. Wool and cotton are two natural fibers that have persisted through time and place. The fibers tell the stories of all our ancestors. a proud poncho wearer! Mar Y Lana is made to last and then pass... the ultimate gesture in the Slow-Fashion movement! #slowfashion #ethicalfashion #ponchostyle #handwoven #kidsfashion

“Respect nature and it will provide you with abundance.” -unknown. Mar Y Lana wool comes from the artisans community. A community that has profound respect for their sheep. The sheep are shorn by hand with scissors by their loving shepherds. The wool then washed and brushed to be spun into thread by the matriarchs of the community.

As I learn more about cotton and it’s beneficial properties as used in textiles I have developed an obsession with cotton bolls used in bouquets! This one caught my eye! 📸 @lefkadaphoto ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

This photo was taken during my recent trip to Morocco with @weare.creative.adventurers I never could have imagined what an incredible experience this would be. It has given me the opportunity to gain an indescribable closeness to so many talented and beautiful women. I’ve found myself recently feeling emotional with gratitude for all of the wonderful women in my life. Thank you for all your love and support! @elisepurcell_

Get out of town and into the mountains. @eglassford loves a quick trip to Idlewild where she can breath some crisp mountain air and cozy up her little one in the Crema poncho. I still have a few left after the sale! Go grab one!

“Looking back gives you regrets. Looking ahead gives you opportunities.” -unknown Working hard today to keep my eyes on the goal of lasting health and an active lifestyle, rather than dwelling in my frustration and discomfort. This last surgery was no joke. It’s been harder than all the others because I am so limited in how long I can be on my feet. It hard not to feel guilty being gone from work for so long, not being able to take care of my children, and the sitting. I have never been good at sitting still.

What makes Mar Y Lana’s wool ponchos so soft? They are a 50/50 blend with cotton! So throw those wool worries out the window! It’s time to get cozy. 📸 @mathildecinqmarsillustration
