Kevyn Schmidt is best known for his fan art oil paintings that combine his love of movies, television and pop culture. "People love pop culture, they define themselves by what they consume and connect with others through mutual admiration." Recently, the artist has expanded his painting to include the landscapes of his home city, Los Angeles, in which he explores the play of light and color on the city and finds beauty in those common places we Angelenos look at (or forget to look at) on a daily basis.
